Each summary is a structured digest of the original well completion report, compiled and verified by experienced geoscientists.
Geological Interpretation
Formation tops, lithological descriptions, and age determinations derived from the original well completion report and subsequent reinterpretations. Includes stratigraphic nomenclature standardised to current basin usage.
Wireline Logs
Complete inventory of all wireline logging runs with tool types, depth intervals, service company, and run conditions. Identifies which curves are available in digital format and their quality status.
Core Analysis
Routine core analysis results including porosity, permeability, grain density, and fluid saturations at ambient conditions. Reported at original sample spacing, typically 0.3 m intervals.
Pressure Data
Drill stem test results and repeat formation test pressures with formation fluid recoveries, shut-in pressures, flow periods, and permeability estimates. Valid points flagged where applicable.
Geochemistry
Source rock data including total organic carbon, Rock-Eval pyrolysis parameters (Tmax, S1, S2, S3, HI, OI), and vitrinite reflectance measurements with statistical ranges.
Biostratigraphy
Palynology and micropalaeontology zonation with depth ranges, zone assignments, and age determinations as reported by the original biostratigraphic consultants.
Engineering Data
Hole and casing programs, formation integrity tests, plugging data, and bit records. Complete drilling history from spud to abandonment.
Velocity Surveys
Check-shot and VSP one-way travel times, vertically corrected relative to seismic reference datum. Used for depth-to-time conversion in seismic interpretation.
Hydrocarbon Shows
Mud log gas readings, fluorescence descriptions, and interpreted show intervals with fluid type classifications. Cross-referenced with core and test data where available.
Why This Data
Well completion reports vary enormously in quality, format, and completeness. A report from 1965 looks nothing like one from 2005, and both may contain errors, omissions, or outdated stratigraphic nomenclature. Our summaries solve this by reducing each well to a consistent, structured format that can be compared across basins and decades.
Every summary is compiled by a geoscientist, not auto-generated from a database. The compiler reads the original well completion report, cross-references with log data and laboratory results, and produces a document that captures the essential geological and engineering information in a standardised layout. Where subsequent reinterpretations exist (updated formation tops, revised biostratigraphy), these are incorporated with attribution.
The result is a reference document that saves hours of report reading and data extraction, particularly valuable when evaluating unfamiliar basins, compiling regional studies, or building basin models from hundreds of wells.

Located 2.9 km west of Montara 1 and 17.4 km SE of Swift 1, testing a western culmination on the Montara structural complex. The well encountered a gas and oil column in the Montara Formation reservoir target, but reservoir properties are poor, and the well failed to flow on DST. Permeabilities indicated from RFT are suspect.
